right on the money!
I love this album! I can't find any information on this band anywhere though, and no other resources online.
I transcribed "right on the money" but I'm not sure about some of the lyrics. I thought I could share it here and maybe someone else can chime in.
Right on the Money
by the Belvederes
Oh Buffalo Bill, he rolled with the best
helped write the story of the wild wild west
he shot the buffalo he passed the test
but he was pulling zero
then he started up with the traveling show
put that frontier life in a rosy glow
his name's in lights now don't you know
he's an old American hero
he got right on the money
right on the money
right on the funny bone
but it ain't much good to me
now in the gilded age it sure was funny
God made money and man made money
it don't take much, just a smidgin' before money gets religion
so I wrote this tune on the family organ
dedicated to J. P. morgan
don't join the union it's bad for your health
great saint willy and the gospel of wealth
oh he got right on the money
right on the money
right on the funny bone
but it ain't much good to me
now I live by the San Francisco bay
where the living's fine if you can pay
since jackpot came my way
I'm moving up much higher
I got a loft in the Mission and an SUV
city life's been good to me
it's just a matter of do-re-mi and certified type flier (???)
now I'm right on the money
right on the money
right on the funny bone
but it ain't much good to me
so don't paint pictures, don't write songs
and don't build bombs or gam-a-lang gongs
don't fight for freedom, don't right wrongs
don't start a revolution
sink your heart and your wallet into stocks and shares
fight the battle of the bulls and bears
because nobody knows and nobody cares
you've become an institution
you'll be right on the money
right on the money
right on the funny bone
but it ain't much good
it ain't much good
ain't much good to me

Have a listen to this one and the other one
Excellent album, with great songs, great musicianship, excellent recording quality. Let down a little by the main vocalists, whoever sings Time is Never Wasted is much better. Would like more info on the group, I gather they are Aussies.

Taking Liberty
Taking Liberty is a re-written version of the Bob Dylan classic, "The times they are a changin'". It is not a cover version. Visitor has written four new verses "about what today looks like to me" while keeping the original first verse intact all but for one word. He has also renamed the song. The guitar arrangement has a bit more swing than the original. The video is hauntingly still and at peace contrasting the content of the lyrics and the song's naturally forlorn tone. It is beautifully done and should not be missed.]- Review from an article entitled, "Visitor: Our time is a tone." by Kim Arnold
